1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BA | Screen ("the Service"), operated by Aletheia Tech Ltd, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including registered account holders, visitors, and anyone who accesses our services.
2. Description of Services
BA | Screen provides name and entity screening and compliance intelligence services including:
• Name & Entity Screening — Screening of individuals and companies against sanctions, PEP, law enforcement, and regulatory sources
• Corporate Risk (KYB) — Due diligence against corporate registry records with ownership mapping
• Adverse Media — AI-assisted adverse media screening across global news sources
• Entity Monitoring — Ongoing monitoring with alerts when a subject's risk profile changes
• Risk Scoring & Reports — Consolidated risk assessment and exportable PDF reports
3. Account Registration
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• One account per person or legal entity
• You must be at least 18 years old to use our services
• If registering on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms
• You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
4. Service Delivery
4.1 Automated Screening. Name, entity, corporate risk, and adverse media screening are generated automatically. Results are based on data available at the time of screening and reflect the state of our sources at that moment.
4.2 Monitoring. Entity monitoring operates on a scheduled basis as defined in your plan. Alerts are generated based on your configured subjects and thresholds.
4.3 Data Accuracy. We use best-effort data from multiple sources including sanctions and watchlists, PEP databases, corporate registries, and news sources. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee 100% completeness or accuracy of all data points, and a match (or absence of a match) is not a determination of any fact about a subject.
5. Pricing & Payment
• Prices are listed in USD unless otherwise specified
• Subscriptions are billed in advance for the applicable period
• We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days’ notice to active subscribers
• All payments are processed securely through our payment processors
6. Refund Policy
• Screening checks: No refunds once a check has been performed, as the service has been rendered
• Subscriptions: Can be cancelled at any time; no refund is provided for partial periods
• Errors: If a check contains errors attributable to our platform (not source-data limitations), we will re-run it at no additional cost
7. Limitations & Disclaimers
7.1 NOT LEGAL ADVICE. Our screening results provide compliance intelligence and data analysis, not legal advice, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional. Always seek appropriate counsel for regulatory decisions.
7.2 SCREENING RESULTS. Matches are indicative and require human review. A potential match does not establish that a subject is the listed person or entity, and the absence of a match does not guarantee a subject is free of risk.
7.3 NO WARRANTY. Our services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
8. Intellectual Property
• All reports, scoring methodologies, platform code, and analytical tools are our intellectual property or that of our licensors
• Upon payment, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use generated reports for your legitimate compliance purposes
• You may share reports with regulators, banks, auditors, and legal counsel as needed for compliance purposes
• You may NOT resell, redistribute, publicly publish, or white-label our reports without a separate written agreement
• Our brand, logo, and trademarks may not be used without express written permission
9. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
• Use our services to facilitate money laundering, sanctions evasion, or any illegal activity
• Submit false or misleading information
• Use screening results for any purpose prohibited by applicable data-protection or anti-discrimination law
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or derive our scoring algorithms or methodologies
• Overwhelm our systems with excessive automated requests or conduct any form of denial-of-service attack
• Share account credentials with unauthorized parties
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically download data from our platform without authorization
10. Confidentiality
We treat your screening requests, results, and account activity as confidential business information. We will not disclose your activity or the subjects you have screened to third parties except:
• As required by applicable law or valid legal process
• As described in our Privacy Policy
• With your explicit consent
This confidentiality obligation survives termination of your account.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
• Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption
• We are not liable for decisions you make based on screening results
• We are not liable for the actions or omissions of third-party data providers
These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise).
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or our services shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
13. Termination
• You may close your account at any time by contacting us
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
• Record-keeping obligations survive termination — we will retain records as required by applicable law (see our Privacy Policy for retention periods)
• Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, confidentiality, and governing law survive termination
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide at least 30 days’ notice via email or platform notification before changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
